The first theme of the conference, delves into the multifaceted roles of diverse actors, including those in justice, health, education, and beyond, all contributing to the extensive network providing support to victims. The conference kicks off with the discussion that aims to unravel the intricate dynamics of working together for the benefit of victims of crime, focusing on how collaboration between generic and specialist support services can enhance the well-being of all victims of crimes.  

The discussion will traverse the realms of societal services, the private sector, academia, and law enforcement, shedding light on key insights crucial for fostering a comprehensive victim support ecosystem.

2. Recognising Excellence: A Decade of Outstanding Achievements in Victim Support

Day 1 continues with shining a spotlight on a decade of outstanding achievements in frontline victim support, showcasing frontline services from East, West, North and South of Europe. Participants will gain insights into exemplary practices, innovative approaches, and the impact these recognised services have had on the field of victim support. The session promises an inspiring exploration of success stories, fostering a deeper understanding of effective strategies and honouring those at the forefront of compassionate assistance for victims.

3. Innovations in Victim Support through Inter-Sectoral Collaborations:

The events of Day 1 conclude with a series of seven workshops, all under the overarching theme of “Advancing Victim Support through Inter-Sectoral Collaborations.” The workshops will illuminate effective collaborations between various sectors, encouraging a vibrant exchange of ideas and strategies. 

4. Building Blocks for a Strong National Support System: Foundations and Frameworks

Day 2 continues with the focus on unveiling the means by which the framework can be effectively implemented. The discussions will address crucial aspects such as cooperation and coordination, community needs assessment, referral mechanisms, and funding models for support organizations. 

5. Enhancing Accessibility in Victim Support: Ground-Level Solutions and Key Insights

Day 2 then transitions from discussing the means to unveiling concrete solutions. The conversation will center on practical approaches to enhance information accessibility, streamline victim support services, improve the quality of support provided, enhance individual assessments, address interpretation and translation issues, streamline compensation processes, and bolster the training of practitioners.

6. Adherence of National Victim Support Services to Established Frameworks

The concluding workshop session will feature practical solutions take center stage. Delve into key topics such as organizational structure, staffing strategies, and team building, offering insights to tailor support services, secure resources, and establish effective case management systems. Engage in discussions on helpline operations, legal and ethical considerations, and strategies for monitoring and evaluating victim support programs, ensuring a comprehensive and actionable exploration of best practices.
